About the event

The Sixth Meeting of the Regional Conference on Social Development in Latin America and the Caribbean is organized by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in conjunction with the 17th Ministerial Forum for Development in Latin America and the Caribbean of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). During the meeting, which will be attended by authorities from the region's social sectors, the document "Latin America and the Caribbean 30 Years After the World Summit for Social Development: Towards a Global Compact for Inclusive Social Development" will be presented, and six panels will address relevant issues related to inequality, pensions, health, social protection, labor inclusion, malnutrition, and care policies, all topics identified as priorities in that document and in the Regional Agenda for Inclusive Social Development.

The Executive Board of the Regional Conference on Social Development in Latin America and the Caribbean (CRDS), as agreed at the Fifth Meeting of the Regional Conference on Social Development in Latin America and the Caribbean held in Santiago under the presidency of Chile in October 2023, is made up of the following countries in the vice presidency: Argentina, Barbados, Brazil, Costa Rica, Panama and Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of).
