About the event

The third session of the Regional Conference on Social Development in Latin America and the Caribbean is being organized by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the Government of Mexico and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and will be attended by authorities in social affairs in the region. The document to be presented on this occasion, Critical obstacles to inclusive social development in Latin America and the Caribbean: background for a regional agenda for inclusive social development, analyses the phenomena that limit access by much of the population to the enjoyment of rights and well-being, and that reproduce inequality and impede progress towards inclusive social development. A proposed regional agenda for inclusive social development will also be presented and discussed, with a view to its adoption.
